Berlinger Special AG is pleased to announce that Isabel Hofer Imboden has joined the team as Sales Manager.
With over 20 years of experience in equine veterinary medicine – including general practice, regulatory work, research and education – Isabel combines scientific expertise with practical, hands-on knowledge of the animal and sport horse sectors.
Born in New Zealand, raised in England, and now based in Switzerland, Isabel has shaped her international career at the intersection of clinical work, scientific research, and education. Her commitment to equine welfare and continuous learning has defined each step of her professional path.
Her career began at the Swiss National Stud and the University of Zurich’s Equine Sports Medicine Department, where she specialised in reproduction and performance. After a decade in general equine practice, she returned to academia to lead knowledge-transfer projects, including the development of a state-of-the-art digital platform for veterinarians and farriers. She also collaborated with the FEI for over ten years on its education platform, FEI Campus, and continues to serve as a regulatory veterinarian for Swiss horseracing.
Together with her husband, Isabel manages a breeding and competition yard – home to her family and more than fifty horses and ponies. A lifelong supporter of horseracing, she has long dreamed of breeding and owning a successful racehorse. While breeding ventures proved more eventful than successful, ownership brought better results—though she has yet to experience a winner’s celebration in person, having missed every one of her horses’ victories on the track.
Isabel is known for her ability to translate complex veterinary and regulatory concepts into clear, value-oriented solutions. Her strong communication skills and sector-specific insight make her an ideal addition to Berlinger’s work in animal doping control and performance integrity.
