A French-Swiss be the name of George Mestral often walked his dog in the woods. At home he always got annoyed about the little burs, that clung stubbornly to his coat. But one day he had a brilliant idea: why not create a fastening like it? All he needed to do was take the “vel” of velours and the “cro” of crochet and the first velcro fastening was born.
